Dinosaur Chess: Learn to Play! App Reviews

Wonderful app. I would like the moves to be more accurate with finger placement though. Sometimes a valid move is misread, and gives the buzzing error sound. This is negative instruction for young learners.

This app has been fantastic. My 6 year old has fallen in love with chess and is enjoying learning "strategy". Problem is that when he gets a piece into position for checkmate the game crashes and turns off. Every time. Luckily the game beats him more often than not, but it is an issue that should not occur.

As a kid I always wanted to learn chess and no one would teach me. When I had kids I decided I would make sure my kids would learn. I got the app hoping it could make it fun for them to learn, and found it made it fun for me as well. The games,when learning how to move the pieces, reinforce the material, and aids the learning process. Multiple levels of games help to build confidence to play a "real" game. My son 7 now loves chess and belongs to a club, and we play a game nightly. Thanks for teaching me later in life and giving my son and I new activity to bond over.

I bought it for my daughter. Shes already got some of the basics downbeat ore this app. This will move her forward, but the app crashes after each Chess Game. No apps paused in background. Reboot does not help either. Does not record the win, loss, or draw. --iPad 4 on iOS 7

This is a fun way to learn chess. I really enjoy the amazing tactics machine.

We LOVE this game! It has been wonderful for the whole family to review or learn. But, its been crashing at the end of games since the so was updated and not the game. So sad. Please fix. :(

I am very disappointed that the audio on the app has not been fixed. When I bought I read reviews from April mentioning audio problems. I foolishly assumed they would be fixed. Six months later the audio is still not working- at least for the iPad. It is a shame because otherwise this would be a good app for young kids interested in chess. Unless your child is a very proficient reader, this is not the app for you. Even then the explanations require a functioning audio in order to be understood. Sadly, I recommend avoiding this app until the audio is fixed.

My five year old son loves this app, and has learned a ton about chess from it. But it crashes way too much, which can be very frustrating in the middle of a game! Please fix this!

I think Dinosaur chess is a great game because you can learn from it also because it has games if your child loves dinosaurs they will love this game I guarantee.if your child doesnt know how to play chess they teach you how!! (Heres what you do )first they teach you how much each peace is worth how it moves and then you play a game with that piece.they also teach you some tactics then each time you win against a dinosaur your dinosaur gets bigger you can fight against new dinosaurs with your powers

Trying to teach myself to play. Its a great concept but there are glitches; occasionally a piece disappears for no reason and I just ran into one situation that changed a pawn into a knight randomly. For the developers, Ive experienced these issues in the level 3 play. Not sure if it continues in other levels.

Very annoyed. Theres no audio. Rebooting and downloading again does not help. No app support. A child cannot learn the basics without the audio. This should be removed from the App Store.

It looks like a fun app and a good lesson plan to learn how to play chess. The audio is not working on my iPhone that is why I have to give it this rating.
